OTROS AIRES ORCHESTRA

Tango sounds and the new sound of Buenos Aires.

In
“G7” 2005 Magazine
OTROS AIRES - When it seemed that the big groups had the monopoly over the best electronic Tango, Otros Aires introduced their first record with a new blend of styles. Founded by Miguel Di Genova, with Hugo Satorre in the bandoneon and the percussion of Emmanuel Mayol, Otros Aires mingles the first recordings in the history of Tango with their own themes, originated between Buenos Aires and Barcelona.

In the
Magazine “Los Inrockuptibles”
OTROS AIRES – They make musical archaeology. Born between Barcelona and Buenos Aires, this audiovisual project dedicates itself to restore both Tango and Milonga recordings from the beginning of last century (Gardel, Razzano and D’Arienzo among others) mixing them with words, melodies and contemporanean electronic arrangements.

  DJ'S
MICHAEL RÜHL

Michael Rühl from Berlin/Germany dances Tango since 1983 and is well known as one of the greatest Tango Collectors of almost 8000 LPs of Tango Music from all Periods.

He is the Organizer of numerous Milongas and since 2002 of the International Tango Festival in Berlin.

FELIX HAHME

He started djaying tango music after several visits in Buenos aires in the beginning of the 90th.

Influenced by the music of the "classical tango period" he prefered the orchestras of the 40's.

The Orchestras of Osvaldo Pugliese, Juan d`arienzo, Carlos di Sarli, Ricardo Tanturi and at least Dagostino/Vargas belong to his main repertoire.

His specific fresh, dynamic and harmonic style of representing tango music (5-3-5 tandas) includes as well popular instrumentals of the 60's, T ango Nuevo, and moreover N eo – Electrotango.

He reached thus nearly each taste of the public in one milonga.

CARLOS MATIAS

For the last 2 years Carlos Matias is DJ in the biggest Milonga in Lisbon, and his signature is to play music of the 40s and also la “ Guarda Vieja”, very rich musical speaking, mixed with new orchestras giving way to the Tangueros to explore new ways of body expression.

He uses musical cortinas with other rhytms thus enabling an easy association of non Tangueros to the Milongas.

MARIELLE

Marielle worked first time as a tango DJ in Paris on the river at the "quai de la Seine" in 2000 and then in 2001 and 2002 for a part of the season.

She was regularly invited to musicalise tango evenings in Paris like "Le Chantier", "le Chacha Bal"... and sone festivals like Copenhague and Nimes or international week-ends like Bruxelle Ma belle or in Buenos Aires Maipu 444.

She has been dancing for 10 years and travelling a lot for tango ( Nijmegen, Sitges, Berlin, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Barcelona, Bonn, Cologne, Bruxelles, Anvers, Buenos Aires...) and she likes "making the music", building up the ambiance of a milonga and reacting to the dancers.
