Regarding aerial transportation, national companies keep regular flights and being a place with great turistic demand there are a lot of reduced fare flights from different parts of Europe.

By Car
Algarve had a good road system suitable for car trips from any part of the country or from Europe.
For instance, leaving Lisbon:
Take the A2 highway to the Algarve (abt 220 kms) and then get in the direction of Spain (Espanha) with A22 (IP1) – Via do Infante, and after approx. 80 kms turn in the direction of Tavira.

Train is another alternative. CP-Comboios de Portugal which is the national railroad Company covers the national territory with a good train service, with daily/regular trains from different points of Portugal.
